There is no charge to list upcoming events, however, other than ongoing meetings, items are limited to no more than two weeks before the event. Church items are limited to benefits, dinners and yard or bake sales and are published only during the week of the event. Non-profit group yard and bake sales and family reunions and open houses are also published only during the week the event is being held.

Middle School Madness: The Alleghany Highlands YMCA will host Middle School Madness Saturday, March 9, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 2.
Church Supper: Central Advent Christian Church, 3515 Longdale Furnace Rd., Clifton Forge, will host a bean and hot dog supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. There will be a free-will offering for food and proceeds will benefit missions.
Sunday, March 10
Relay For Life Bingo: Eagles’ Wings Relay for Life will hold a bingo at 2 p.m. at the Covington Moose Lodge. Doors will open at 1 p.m. Prizes will include Longaberger, Bacova, gift certificates, handmade wooden items, Montana Silversmith Jewelry, Vera Bradley, a framed print, Scentsy and Pampered Chef. There will also be cakewalks and raffles. Call Shirley Mundy, 747-2466 or Pauline Paxton, 747-5204, to reserve cards, four for $25. Cards at the door will be three for $25.
Fiddlin’: Fiddlin’ for the Masonic will be held with dinner at 6 p.m. at Jack Masonic Tavern and Patrick O’Flaherty in concert at the Historic Masonic Theatre. Tickets are $50, or $20 for coffee and concert only. Call 962-5655 or visit Heirlooms, Club Car, Old Forge Coffee Company, The Tea Room or chamber of commerce for tickets.
Benefit: The Food Bank at First Assembly of God, Clifton Forge, will hold a benefit at 11 a.m., followed by a meal at 12 a.m. and a gospel sing at 2 p.m. featuring The Expressions.

CWC Board: The Covington Woman’s Club Board of Directors will meet Mondayat 7 p.m. at Granbery UMC.
Tuesday, March 12
Garden Club: Jackson River Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. at Mallow Presbyterian Church. Entries for judging must be in by 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 14
Ballet: Richmond Ballet, the State Ballet of Virginia will perform at Covington High School at 7:30 p.m. Call 962-6220 for more information.
Corned Beef and Cabbage: The annual corned beef and cabbage dinner at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 5-12, free for children under 5. Church is located at the intersection of WV 63 and Walnut Street, Ronceverte, W.Va. Call 304-536-1813 for more information.
Clothes Closet: The Clothes Closet at Lone Star Baptist Church will be open from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday. Church is located at 6101 Potts Creek Road. Clothing and other items are free of charges.
