Opal Kincaid

Opal Burks Kincaid, 81, of 9813 Salem Rd., Low Moor, died, Saturday, March 9, 2012, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was born May 13, 1931, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Melvin M. and Patty Keen Burks.

Mrs. Kincaid retried as a mold operator from H.O. Canfield in Iron Gate. Her favorite pastime was to play bingo.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kincaid was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Kincaid in 1974; three sisters, Betty Burks, Joyce Burks and Charlotte Bush; two brothers, Cecil M. Burks and Melvin Burks Jr. and two brothers-in-law, William S. Bush and Roscoe G. DePriest.

Surviving are three daughters, Gail DePriest and Gary Holberook of Charleston, W.Va. ; Patricia Lester and her husband, Frank and Susan Kincaid and Hoy T. Lee, all of Covington; three sons, Steve Kincaid and his wife, Debbie, of Low Moor and Gary Kincaid, all of Low Moor and Charles Kincaid and his wife, Dana, of Eagle Rock; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Romana Depriest of Iron Gate; one brother, Billy Burks of Clifton Forge and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edith Snedegar officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
