WARM SPRINGS – The Bath County Board of Supervisors has approved a contract for Phase I of courthouse renovations.
The board ratified a contract with Balzer and Associates Tuesday night in the amount of $20,000 for architectural services. The vote came during the board’s second meeting of the month.
Also Tuesday night, the board approved the appointment of Becky Armstrong to the Bath County Industrial Development Authority.
In other business Tuesday night, supervisors held a discussion on future capital needs with representatives from various emergency agencies within the county.
Maj. Jay Bryan of the Bath County Sheriff’s Office, along with representatives from Hot Springs Fire and Rescue, the Williamsville Fire Department, Burnsville Fire and Rescue and the Mountain Grove Fire Department, addressed supervisors about future needs.
The board also entertained a presentation from the Virginia Municipal League and Virginia Association of Counties.
Prior to the regular session, supervisors held a budget review and discussion.
The board will hold public hearings on the proposed 2013-14 budget and tax rates at its May 14 meeting.
