The Covington 8th grade volleyball team made the short trip down Interstate 64 to Clifton Middle School for a double match with the Falcons.
CHS won both matches to complete the sweep.
Covington won the first match 25-17, 16-25, 15-2 and took the second match 14-25, 25-12, 18-16.
Kelsey Young led Covington with 13 points in the first match, while Autumn Woodson and Dakota Botkin scored 12 points each. MacKenzie Madison had nine points, Mikayla Andrews had six and Haley Alban rounded out the first match scoring with four points.
Woodson and Botkin led the Cougars in the second match wtih 17 points each, while Young added 11.
Madison finished with five, Andrews added four and Alban finished with three.
The CHS 8th graders will be back in action Thursday when they travel to Highland at 6 p.m.
CMS will be back in action Thursday when they hit the road to take on Maury River. The match is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
