Word has been received by Donna Dressler-Miller of the death of her daughter, Susan Elaine Kennedy, 44, August 18, 2010 at her residence in Soda Springs, Idaho, after a long struggle with illness.

Susan was born in Covington August 9, 1966, the daughter of Homer Boyd Kennedy Jr. and Donna Dressler-Miller.

She had lived most of her adult life in Utah and Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Homer B. and Marie Chisholm Kennedy and material grandparents Carl W. and Carrie Wegman Dressler; a stepbrother, Nathaniel Kennedy and a nephew, Cory Walters.

She is survived by three children, Gregory W. Kennedy and his wife, Kay Lou, Soda Springs, Idaho, Carrie K. Thorpe and James D. Kennedy of Layton, Utah; five grandchildren, Bradon Wayne Kennedy, Taleighanah Kennedy, Mackayla Kennedy, Lucas Dee Thorpe; her parents, Donna and Wayne Miller and Homer “Butch” Kennedy, Covington; three sisters, Kathy K. Downey, Covington, Deborah K. Juntunen, Nisula, Mo., Sandra K. Frey, Killeen, Texas; one brother, Michael J. Kennedy, Troy, Mo.; one stepbrother, Matthew Kennedy; her first husband Larry D. Larson, Layton, Utah; and her second husband, Mark Dansford, Soda Springs, Idaho; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends.

A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, Soda Springs, Idaho.

Family living in Covington will receive friends at the residence of Susan’s mother and stepfather, Donna and Wayne Miller, 436 Brentwood Drive, Covington, Sunday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Visitation in Idaho will follow the Memorial Service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Sims Funeral Home, Soda Springs, Idaho (Simsfh.com).
