A Monday storm cell that moved through the Highlands caused power outages in the Covington and Eagle Rock areas.
Dominion Virginia Power spokeswoman Daisy Pridgen said power was lost in the Covington area just after 6 p.m., affecting 1,900 customers. Power was restored within 25 minutes, she said.
At 6:30 p.m., another outage was reported, affecting 200 Dominion customers in Alleghany County. Craig-Botetourt Electric Cooperative customers in Alleghany County and Eagle Rock were also affected. That outage lasted approximately two hours.
Craig-Botetourt customers in Eagle Rock lost power when the cooperative lost a feed from Dominion at its Bessemer substation.
