Another grand larceny charge has been filed against a Covington man employed as a contractor.
Billy Joe Craft, 27, of 913 N. Alleghany Ave., was arrested Wednesday by Alleghany County sheriff’s deputies in connection with a theft that occurred at a residence on Big Cedar Drive.
Sheriff Kevin Hall said Craft had worked for a company that did flooring work at the residence.
The company was notified Tuesday that several items had been stolen from the residence, including jewelry and two iPods.
Craft was arrested Wednesday and at least two pieces of the stolen jewelry were recovered by investigating officers Sgt. R.C. Fridley and Cpl. R.A. Gillespie, Hall said.
Craft was released on secured bond after being processed at the Alleghany Regional Jail in Covington.
Craft also faces another grand larceny charge related to a May 27 theft from a residence on Chapel Drive in Jackson Heights.
That theft also occurred at a residence where Craft was performing contracting work.
