The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) associates in western Virginia have ratified a new labor agreement with UFCW Local 400.
“We are pleased to reach an agreement that is good for our associates, providing them with wage increases, affordable health care and a stable pension fund to support their retirement,” said Jay Cummins, president of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Division. “This agreement is the outcome of thoughtful, respectful and proactive work by Kroger and union representatives. I extend our appreciation to associates for supporting this agreement and for the excellent services they provide to our customers every day.”
The three-year agreement covers approximately 4,800 associates working in 41 stores from Charlottesville and Lynchburg west to Bristol, in the Princeton area of West Virginia, and in Kingsport/Johnson City, Tennessee.
