Kelly Warren Prewitt, 41 of Salem, formerly of Covington, died, Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.
He was born Sept. 9, 1968, in Covington, a son of Nancy Linsky Lamb of Savannah, Ga.
Kelly was a member of the 1986 graduating glass of Alleghany High School, where he was a drum major in the band.
He was formerly employed as a tool tech at ITT in Roanoke. Kelly had a love of the culinary arts.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Lamb.
In addition to his mother, Kelly is survived by his soulmate, Dawn Grimm Tingler of Covington; her sons, Jason L. Tingler and Pfc. Christopher Guy Mayberry of the U.S. Marine Corps; one sister, Kim Prewitt of Roanoke; and one brother, Kevin Prewitt, of Covington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. this evening in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
Following the service, the family will receive friends.
