Arrests Made By Drug Task Force

Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall announced Tuesday the last two persons indicted by an Alleghany County Grand Jury on July 12, 2010 on information presented by the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force have been arrested.

Both individuals turned themselves in this week, Hall said.

Anyone with information on any drug activity including the cultivation of marijuana can call the task force at 965-6308. All information will be kept confidential.

The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Alleghany, Bath and Highland Sheriff’s Offices, Covington Police Department and the Virginia State Police.

Precilla Gail Elmore, 27,) 347 East Oak Street, Covington, was charged with one count of distributing more than ½ ounce but less than 5 lbs. of marijuana.

Steven Alexander Shaver, 26, 1310 Sam Snead Highway, Hot Springs was charged with one count of distribution of cocaine.
