LOW MOOR – The Alleghany Highlands YMCA is offering two summer camp programs.
The Y Girls Basketball Camp will be held July 26-29 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The camp is for girls ages 9-16 to learn and improve basketball skills and teamwork. The cost is $20 for members and $40 for non-members. The fee includes water bottle, tote, drink and snack.
Shayla Morgan, Caprice Laws and Bessie Laws will be coordinating the camp. All have experience as players and coaches.
The All-Sports Camp will be held August 9-13 (Monday-Friday).
Ages 4-5: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Fee $15 members, $20 non-members.
Ages 6-8: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fee $15 members, $20 non-members.
Teens ages 9-13: 12 noon to 3 p.m. Fee $20 member, $40 non-member.
The participants will rotate as teams to have fun in a competitive environment. There will be a different sport featured each day.
Teens will be doing swimming relays. Swimming skills will be practiced and them compete on teams. Teens must be able to swim one pool length on front with face in water; one pool length on back; and then tread water for one minute.
Participants will be contacted a week prior to camp for full details. A water bottle is included.
