EAGLE ROCK – James “Trick” William Dudley, 84, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Woodlands.
He was formerly of 1002 Prices Bluff Rd., Eagle Rock.
He was born August 10, 1925 in Rockbridge County, the son of the late Ira Owen and Lelia Mae Hickman Dudley.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Louise Wilcher Dudley in 2006; a daughter, Alma Dudley; brother, Ray Dudley; and sister, Lillie Marie Deeds.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Melton and Debbie Dudley, Blair Dudley, L. Wayne Dudley and Stephanie McCormick, Richard Dudley Sr., all of Eagle Rock, Ralph Dudley of Clifton Forge; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Jerry Nininger of Iron Gate, Lois Jones of Salem, Susan and Russell Smith of Madison Heights; grandchildren, Jason and Constance Dudley, Jamie Dudley and fiancé, Heather Woodzell., Jennifer and G. W. Reynolds Jr., David Nininger, Heather McCulley, Amber Jones, Ricky Dudley Jr., Kasey Dudley, Cheryl and Sean Riddick; and two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Oler and Clara Dudley of Selma, Clarence Dudley of Iron Gate, Glen Sr. and Joan Dudley of Eagle Rock; sisters and brother-in-law, Stella Dudley, Ester and Fred Clark, and Lucy Dudley all of Clifton Forge.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert A. McRae officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14777 Church Street, Eagle Rock (884-2276) or anytime at the home of his daughter, Mary Ann, 215 3rd St., Iron Gate.
