Ramona Burks DePriest, age 80, of 460 Simmons Lane, Eagle Rock, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at her residence.

She was born November 12, 1932 in Alleghany County, to the late Melvin N. and Patty Keene Burks.  

She was a radiology technician for Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. She was baptized in Iron Gate Methodist Church, and was a member of Iron Gate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Gray DePriest; two daughters, Ella DePriest Vess and Katherine Louise DePriest; two brothers, Cecil M. Burks, and Melvin E. Burks, Jr.;  four sisters, Opal Burks Kincaid, Betty Burks, Joyce Burks and Charlotte Bush. a sister-in-law, Sandra K. Burks; and two brothers-in-law, William S. Bush and Homer E. Kincaid.

She is survived by three sons, David Wayne DePriest and wife Becky of Low Moor, Thomas Ira DePriest and wife Victoria of Eagle Rock, and Roscoe G. DePriest, Jr. of Rich Patch, Covington; a brother, Billy Burks of Clifton Forge; three grandchildren, Thomas Ira DePriest, Jr., Robert DePriest, and Roxanne DePriest; a great granddaughter, Anna Marie DePriest; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Vickie Howard.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating.

 Interment will follow in Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery in Natural Well.  

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Sentara Hospice, 103 Old Church Street, Low Moor, Va., 24457.
