There is no charge to list upcoming events, however, other than ongoing meetings, items are limited to no more than two weeks before the event.
Church items are limited to benefits, dinners and yard or bake sales. Non-profit group yard and bake sales and family reunions and open houses are also published.
Saturday, Sept. 28
Cruise In: Kars Unlimited will hold a cruise in at Walmart from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Spaghetti Dinner: There will be a spaghetti dinner from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church in Selma. Salad, drink and dessert, adults $7, children ages 4-10, $4.
Sunday, Sept. 29
Masonic Amphitheatre: The Celtic Martins will perform at the Masonic Amphitheatre at 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 adults, $5 seniors/military, $3 for students, family $20.

Suppertime: Suppertime at Granbery will be held Oct. 1 at 4:45 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. with ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, glazed apples, dessert, drink, $7.
Masons: Covington Masonic Lodge No. 171 AF&AM will hold a stated communication Thursday, Oct. 3, at the lodge on Dolly Ann Drive at 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Flea Market: There will be a flea market and bake sale Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Sweet Springs Rescue Building in Sweet Springs, W.Va. There is a $10 setup fee. Call 340-536-1559 or 304-536-3190.
Pancakes: There will be an all you can eat pancake breakfast at Applebee’s Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. to benefit the campaign to elect Sarah Patton president of the Virginia Education Association. Cost is $5 per adult, $2.50 for children 10 and under.
VFW Pancake Breakfast: Curtis A. Smith VFW Post 1033 will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast Saturday, Oct. 5, from 7 to 11 a.m. The event will be held at the VFW Post on Dolly Ann Drive. The breakfast will feature pancakes and buckwheats, sausage, orange juice, cofee and milk. Tickets are $5 each. The price for children 10 and uncder is $3. Tickets wil be available at the door.
Tea Party: There will be a tea party for area boys and girls Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. with Donna Loan at the Clifton Forge Public Library. Call the library at 863-2519.
Historical Presentation: Al Kresse will present a program at Covington City Hall Sunday, Oct. 6, entitled: “Retracing the Potts Creek Branch from Covington to Jordan to Bess.” The presentation will begin at 2 p.m. and it will be co-sponsored by the Alleghany Highlands and C&O Historical Societies.
