Two area churches are planning to hold Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis of Assisi.
St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., will hold a Blessing of the Animals on its front lawn at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The church is located on West Main Street. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Alleghany Humane Society in White Sulphur Springs. Call (304) 586-3320 for more information.
Another Blessing of the Animals will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church near Clifton Forge.
Dogs brought to the church must be on a lead and cats must be in a carrier.
A free-will offering will be accepted to benefit Alleghany Highlands All-Breed Rescue.
