There is no charge to list upcoming events, however, other than ongoing meetings, items are limited to no more than two weeks before the event.

Church items are limited to benefits, dinners and yard or bake sales. Non-profit group yard and bake sales and family reunions and open houses are also published.

Friday, Oct. 11
Cake Walk: There will be a cake walk at The Woodlands. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., walk begins at 6 p.m. Proceeds will be spent toward giving residents Christmas.

Come To Beans: There will be a come to beans luncheon at the C&O Railway Heritage Center at 12 p.m. Bring covered dish or donation. Call 862-8653 for information.

Saturday, Oct. 12
Cake Walk: There will be a cake walk at 6 p.m. at the Brian Center to benefit residents with a 5-/50, cakes, music by Bill Cook and Friends. Proceeds used to purchase Christmas gifts for residents. For more information, call 862-3610.

Clothes Closet: Cornerstone Church of God of Prophecy, 1262 S. Lexington Ave., will have a free clothes closet from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m Food will be served with proceeds going for world missions, two hot dogs, drinks and dessert for $4.50.

Yard Sale: The Covington Woman’s Club will hold a yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Edgehill, 2316 Grass Ave.

Benefit: There will be a benefit for Kameron Sweet at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tickets are $10, children 12 and under free. 50/50, door prizes, silent auction, face painting, cornhole tournament, along with performances by Southpaw, Plank Road Express and Narrow Road.
