Annie Louise Lindsay Cauley, age 85, of Millboro, went to her heavenly home Thursday, September 26, 2013, from her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 5, 1928 in Richmond, to the late Arthur Velmont Lindsay and Louise Vermillera Lindsay.
She was a school teacher for Bath County Public Schools and a retired cashier for The Homestead Resort. She was a member of Living Stones Ministries and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who dedicated her entire life to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl William Cauley, Sr. in 1972; a brother, Arthur Lindsay and his wife, Mina; and a grandson, Korey Lee Ryder.
She is survived by eight children, Linda Shaffier and husband Carl, Mary Robertson and husband Tommy, LeeLee Thompson and husband Dale, Sr., Earl Cauley, Jr. and wife Lynn, Thomas Cauley, Glenn Cauley and companion Vickie Ryder, Barbara Ryder and husband Danny, and Susie Mae Cauley; eighteen grandchildren, Marsha Perdue and husband Bart, Laura Gillispie and husband Glenn, Christina Oliver and husband Brent, April Tuning and husband Greg, Jessica Forbes and husband Robert, Dale Thompson, Jr. and wife Jessica, Eric Thompson and friend, Julie McAllister, Dennis Cauley and friend Dana Huffman, Steven Cauley and friend Heather Brooks, Brian Cauley and wife Stephanie, Tiffany Myers and husband Mark, Clinton Cauley and wife Ashley, Mike Cauley, Kimberly Cauley, Shawn Ryder and wife Casey, Sara Jeffries and husband Brian, William Gibson and wife Christin, and Casey Williams and husband Jonathan; twenty-eight great grandchildren, Faith and Hope May, Owen and Cade Perdue, Sydney and Brayden Gillispie, Derek and Lindsay Oliver, Austin, Wade and Renee Tuning, Trinity and Alexis Forbes, Tyler and Emily Thompson, Layla McAllister, Kaytlyn, Ciara, Cole and Charlotte Cauley, Hunter, Caleb and Hannah Myers, Parker Cauley, Haley Ryder, Braydon and Micah Gibson, and Kenzlie Williams; a number of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, including special great niece, Lindsay Smith; and special friends, Elizabeth Ailstock, Racheal Persinger, and Brian Anthony Smith.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. at Living Stones Ministries, Clifton Forge with Reverend Michael Rollins officiating.
Interment will follow in Windy Cove Cemetery, Millboro.
Mrs. Cauley’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, Sept. 28, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge and other times at the family home place, 3283 Indian Draft Road, Millboro.
