Long Family Holds 9th Annual Reunion In July

The Long family held their ninth annual reunion at Douthat State Park on Saturday, July 27.

They had 40 people in attendance with people coming from West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia.

The theme of this year’s reunion was “80s.” A number of those attending dressed in an “80s” costume theme.

Games were played with prizes given out to the winners.

The Malone Pavilion was decorated with an “80s” theme.

Families brought food of fried chicken, hot dogs, barbecue, potato salad, macaroni salad, tossed salad, fruit salad and many types of dessert.

Also on exhibit were family books on ancestors from 1972 to the present, a Long family book that is being printed was on display for all to see and many old family photos.

A good was had by those in attendance and it was decided to have the theme of “Favorite Superhero” for next year’s reunion, which will be held at Douthat State Park.
