CLIFTON FORGE — The Clifton Forge Lions Club met Sept. 26 at Scott Hill.
There were 13 members present and President David Davis presided while Secretary Glen Linthicum and Treasurer Skip McMullen assisted.
Rusty Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the evening prayer was given by the Rev. Linthicum.
Dinner was prepared and served by member Ella Lebleu assisted by Mae Hughes and Katy Desort.
Shasta Robertson was guest speaker and talked about Safehomes Systems. She gave many details about the work of the organization in the community.
Announcements included:
— The club will participate with Main Street during Heritage Day, Oct. 5
— The club will have a broom booth at the annual Fall Foliage Festival, Oct. 17-18.
Members voted to raise quarterly dues from $65 to $70.
Scott Duding won the attendance prize and Jim Drewry won the 50/50.
Mascot Tom will be in Davis’ care until the next meeting which will be held Oct. 10.
