Barry Scott Douglas, 65, passed away September 23, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

A native of Covington, he was the son of the late Norman Lionel and Grace Bush Douglas.

 He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

 He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra VanLear Douglas; his faithful companion, Traveller; brothers, Wayne, Shawn and Vaughn Douglas; special nieces, Tonya, Sharon, Jennifer, Afton, Adrienne, Audrey and Rebecca; special nephews, Trent, Michael, Mikey, Matthew, Andrew, William and L.J.

 A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Craig Memorial Baptist Church with Revs. Gary Rankin and Trent Rankin officiating and military honors provided by Gaston County Honor Guard.

 The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
