LOW MOOR — Charles David “Dave” Terry has been named director of business and finance for Alleghany Public Schools.
Terry’s appointment became effective Thursday. He succeeds Keven Rice, who resigned from the position last month.
As director of business and finance, Terry has oversight over school finances, maintenance and bus operations.
Terry has more than 30 years experience in business and finance. He has worked at various locations in Virginia and North Carolina.
He was director of finance for Lynchburg schools and has worked for several other education entities.
Terry is a graduate of Virginia Tech. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tech.
His wife, Jane, is a native of the Roanoke area.
The Terrys have one daughter, Heather, who graduated from Virginia Tech and now resides and works in Northern Virginia.
