Dear Editor,

On, Friday, October 18, the Association of Parents and Teachers at Edgemont Primary School held a fall carnival as one of our fall fundraisers.

The APT would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all those who helped make our carnival a huge success.

First we would like to thank the parents and children who attended the carnival, the parents and staff who made baked goods for the cake walk, the teachers who worked so hard on their creative pumpkins for our pumpkin contest, the staff and parents who volunteered before, during, and after the carnival,  Cassie Campbell and Julie Blosser for being our official supply shoppers, and the parents who volunteer their time for the children at Edgemont Primary school throughout the year to help make the APT a success.

We would also like to thank the following for volunteering their time at our event: CHS staff Lisa Richards, and Heather Baker and all the students at Covington High School who worked the games, painted faces, and made snow cones, Alleghany Heart Unit Queens: Queens for a Cause: Karen Jordan, Jr. Miss Queen of Hearts, Olivia Portillo, Little Miss Queen of Hearts Sydney Paxton, Tiny Miss Queen of Hearts, Baylee Peters, Petite Miss Queen of Hearts Katie Stull and Tiny Tot Queen of Hearts, Macie Stull, and Girl Scout Troop  756.

We could not hold our event without the advertisement we received from 103.5 Big Country and 101.9 The River, Jay Montana,  and the Virginian Review.

We were able to give away two scooters thanks to Byer’s Construction who purchased the scooters for us.

We would like to thank the following businesses/ persons, for their donations: VIP nails, Penny’s Diner, Julia Martin, Perfectly Posh-Tiffany Bowers- Longaberger Consultant, Advance Auto of Covington, NAPA, Club Car, Cucci’s, McDonalds, Wendy’s, Ashley Seldomridge Photography, Old Dog Coffee, Big Fat Jerry’s Seasonings- Jerry Meyer, San Juan Mexican Restaurant, Betty Munsey, Pizza Hut of Covington, Fisher Auto Parts, Paparazzi Jewelry-Amanda Burns, Tonya Wolfe,  Karen May, and Beverly Baker.

Without these donations our carnival would not have been a success and we greatly appreciate all their support of our school community.

All of our funds raised throughout the year are put back into EPS and the students and teachers here. Our organization is able to assist with funding field trips, field day, school presenters, buy supplies, and operate the Holiday Shop.

Thanks again for your support and we look forward to next year’s carnival.

Sincerely,
Amanda Burns
Co- President
