There is no charge to list upcoming events, however, other than ongoing meetings, items are limited to no more than two weeks before the event. Church items are limited to benefits, dinners and yard or bake sales. Non-profit group yard and bake sales and family reunions and open houses are also published.
Saturday, November 9
Sale: Selma Methodist Church will hold a yard sale inside from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with clothes, bake sale and food.
Sale: Virginia Chapel Methodist Church, 81 Wilkinson Ave., Mitchelltown, will hold an apple dumplings, bake sale from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Bingo: Health Occupations Students of America will hold a Thirty-One fundraiser bingo at the Covington Moose Lodge at 12:30 p.m., begin at 1 p.m. Three special Yankee Candle games, food, 50/50, raffles and cake walk.
Y Fest: The Autumn Y Fest will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. with arts and crafts, children’s activities, and a variety of YMCA class demonstrations, Little Critters Traveling Zoo and concessions available by the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad. Call 962-9622 for more information.
Monday, November 11
Woman’s Club: The Covington Woman’s Club Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. at Granbery United Methodist Church.
Tuesday, November 12
Garden Club: The Jackson River Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mallow Presbyterian Church for a workshop meeting to make holiday wreathes and arrangements. Everyone is asked to bring plant materials and mechanics for articles to be designed. Bring paper goods for the Christmas Mother program.
Men of Mission: The Men of Mission will meet for breakfast at Boys’ Home at 8 a.m. in the dining hall.
