Robert Lee “Bobby” Sydenstricker, age 50, of Brattons Run, Goshen, and formerly of Clifton Forge, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Rockbridge County.
He was born March 6, 1963 in Clifton Forge, to the late Billy and Helen Byer Sydenstricker, and was a foreman for Stella Jones Corporation in Goshen.
He was a member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge No. 1683 and the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge (B.P.O.E.) No. 1065, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his fiancé, Nancy Petty of Brattons Run, Goshen; two sons, Nolan Sydenstricker of Brattons Run, and Dillon Sydenstricker of Glen Wilton; four sisters, Sheryl Sydenstricker of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Dawn Kimberlin and husband Darrell of Clifton Forge, Christine Reed and husband Chris of Covington, and Jennifer Duncan and husband Rob of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews; and his extended Petty family of Brattons Run in Goshen.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
