LONGDALE – Thoughts and prayers go out to the shut-ins at nursing homes, those hospitalized and in private homes: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark, Bernie Teaford, Mrs. Eva Bennett, Marvin Nicely and Randy Dalin.

Victor Conner is a patient at U.Va. Hospital in Charlottes-ville and is doing well following heart surgery.

Sympathy is given to Marie Armstrong over the recent death of a brother, James Williams of Lexington and the Bobbie Newcomb family over the recent death of his sister, Mrs. June Reynolds of Lexington. Also, we extend sympathy to Jack Kimberlin’s family and descendants.

Marie Armstrong celebrated her 88th birthday July 31.

Visiting Marie from Springfield, Mass., were Danny Nicely and wife, Kathy, and grandson Robert Nicely at home, and Ricky Nicely of Richmond. Also, Dwight Nicely and wife, Mag, and daughter, Megan and husband.

They were all saddened by the death of Marie’s brother, James, but before going home, they enjoyed a cookout with a good time of fellowship.

Betty and Debbie Williams of Lexington visited Marie later in the week.

Sammy Nicely and family visited last weekend with parents and families, Sam and Margaret Nicely.

Johnie and Betty Dean are back in Longdale for an extended stay. They returned home after spending several days with Johnie’s sisters and family in Chester.

We remember all the children starting school Wednes-day and those going back to college. They all need our prayers.

Also, we need to pray that funds are available to keep Sharon School open after this year.

Addie Vance, Greg and Freda Linkswiler visited Sunday with Roberta Garrett and family, Stuart’s Draft, in celebrating the birthday of her granddaughter, Ann Garrett, Ryan’s daughter, who turned 8.
