Dear Editor,
We are concerned and very much surprised to learn that Dr. Jim Redington resigned recently from Bath Community Hospital under unclear circumstances.
Bath County has been extremely fortunate to have had Dr. Redington and his family as part of the community for 26 years. He is a brilliant and extremely competent physician.
In 2002, Dr. Redington was instrumental in saving my husband’s life due to a heart attack. He came to the Emergency Room, diagnosed the event quickly, stabilized him and arranged for a helicopter to fly him at U.Va. at midnight.
This community as well as surrounding areas have come to depend on Dr. Redington and we cannot lose him. Please reconsider and resolve the issues that have resulted in this resignation that the hospital staff, patients and citizens can have the peace of mind knowing they will be taken care of by this fine doctor.
Sincerely,
Jan Sodolski
