VINTON — William Byrd handed Alleghany a 31-19 junior varsity football loss here Thursday night.
Rick Lanahan (42 yard run), Shawn Spinner (15 yard pass from Zach Humphries) and David Halsey (3 yard run) all had touchdowns for the Mountaineers.
Nate Rusmisel had one extra point kick, while Halsey added an interception.
The Mountaineers (4-5) close their season Thursday at home against Staunton River.
