FOREST — Micah Pratt of the Patriot Pacers edged Alleghany’s Gaige Kern by just half a second to win the Runnin’ With The Wolves Rocktoberfest at Wolf Branch Farm Saturday.
The Mountaineers finished 12th in a 17-team boys field.
Karleigh Thompson and Marlee Parker finished 20th and 32nd respectively in the girls race, helping Alleghany to a seventh place finish.
Both the Clifton Middle School boys and girls teams, led by Jordan McPeek and Gracie Conner, placed ninth in the middle school team standings.
The Mountaineers now prepare for the postseason.
Step number one, the combined Blue Ridge District and Conference 31 championships will be hosted by AHS Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Clifton Middle School.
