The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism recently held its annual picnic at Douthat State Park for new residents.
The picnic is designed to welcome new educators and new residents to the area and introduce them to chamber members and business leaders in the community.
Nine new area residents attended as special guests.
The Chamber would like to thank LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany for serving as the corporate sponsor the luau,” said Teresa Hammond, executive director of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. “We would like to also thank Charlie Conner, Kester Dingus and the staff at Douthat State Park for hosting a wonderful event this year.”
