SALEM — Clifton Middle School finished their football season last Wednesday with a 42-28 win over Glenvar Middle School.
Christian Allen scored four touchdowns for the Falcons and ran in two PATs, while Mitchell Brookman scored twice and had one 2-point run.
Allen scored on runs of 9, 6, 41 and 15 yards, while Brookman scored on a 4-yard run and returned an onside kick for 52 yards and a touchdown to seal the win with under two minutes left in the game.
The Falcons finished the season with a 3-7 record.
“A great group of kids,” said CMS coach Bob Umstead. “They grew immensely as the year progressed. And the thing that is so exciting is that we have 14 (7th graders) coming back next year.”
Umstead also thanked his coaching staff — Bruce Bazzrea, Taylor Carter, Tom Persinger and Derek Cantrell.
“A lot of football experience and football background in that group,” he said. “They would do anything for these kids.”
