Sgt. Scott Fischer of the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office was honored September 23 in Vinton by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for his commitment and dedication to making the roads and highways of Alleghany County a safer place to drive.
Sgt. Fischer led the department in DUI arrests in 2013. He is a 20-year veteran of law enforcement.
“To have a veteran supervisor setting an example for the younger deputies is very commendable,” said Lt. Col. Matt Bowser, Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy.
