Kenny Edward Goode, 76,   of 705 Dolly Ann Drive, died, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at his residence.

He was born May 3, 1938, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Herbert N. and Louise Sellers Goode.    

Mr. Goode served his county with the US Army from 1956-1959.   

He retired in 2003 from MeadWestvaco as a mechanic with 44 years of service.  

Mr. Goode loved to hunt and fish. He always enjoyed working in the vegetable garden and also the  flowers in his  yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded death in by two brother-in-laws, Tim Hilton and George Lee and also by one sister-in-law, Barbara Cadd.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Shelby  Joan Moats Goode of  Covington; one daughter, Debra Morrison and her husband Charley of Iron Gate; five sisters, Charlotte Hilton of Summersville, S.C.; Patty Burchette and her husband Ryland; Gail Tucker and her husband Burwin”Dunnie” all of Covington; Sandra “Peanut” Lee of Huntsville, Ala., and Cheryl Boguess and her husband of Clifton Forge; three brothers, Herbert “Fritz”  Goode and his wife Charlotte of Richmond; Ronnie Goode and his wife Mary and Gary Goode, all of Covington; brother-in-law, Malcom Cadd of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews, including Christy and Kenny Gunter of Covington and Pam and Joe Snead of Clayton, N.C.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m.  in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel  with the Rev. Michael Warren officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Charley Morrison, Ryland Burchette, Alan Perkins, Ronnie Wayne Goode, Gail Tucker, and Burwin Tucker.

The family will receive their friends Friday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
