Letter To The Editor – Totally Wrong Information

Dear Editor,

I would like to comment on the article written by Karen Swoope about the information she wrote in Saturdays paper in Letters to the editor. Her information is totally wrong.

My name is Bonnie Hyler and I sit in on most of the council meeting and was there at the September meeting on the 9th. Ronnie Underwood, Bruce Hyler and Eddie Reynolds have never pointed a finger towards anyone and accused them of wrong doings. They have simply just stated facts that were given to them by the freedom information act and the towns financial manager.

Yes they were charged a fee to receive there information. Not once have they accused anyone on council, town employees, or anyone else period.

They simply want answers to some questions like the escrow account which was told we had one in case the town lost a law suit to the county. Now there is nothing in such an account.

Now on the matter of the credit card charges they were inquiring about, An employee of the library said there were 2 tickets for children in a reading competition but on the credit card charges, there were 6 charges on 7/31/2014.

Now Mrs. Swoope states that the employee purchased gas on 7/26/14 in Iron Gate, which is in the wrong direction. I know for a fact that there are gas stations inside Clifton Forge and that the town uses the Stop In to get there gas. East Coast, which is locally owned and ran, has gas and most of the time the cheapest price. What happened to shop locally and support local businesses? Does it really take 5 days to drive to Lewisburg, W.Va. from Clifton Forge?

Again the information was given to Bruce Hyler by the financial manager of the town of Clifton Forge. There not made up, nor bent in anyway. If you want to check, go down to the court house and get your own copy. See Lee Ann Tyler.

Bruce Hyler paid $22.89 for 1/2 hours labor but maybe you won’t have to.
In closing Karen, you need to get your facts straight, and not try to call out these men who are just digging for the truth and for answers to inform the citizens of Clifton Forge. I feel in my heart that these 3 men who are running for council are being treated unfairly and rudely and being disrespected for searching for the truth and wanting to make Clifton Forge a better place to live.

Your Truly,
Bonnie Hyler
