John Phillips caught his third career NFL regular season touchdown Sunday in the Chargers’ 23-20 loss to Kansas City.
Phillips’ 1-yard TD reception from Philip Rivers came in the first quarter, giving San Diego an early 7-0 lead.
Phillips, a big part of the Chargers’ running game, played on 14 of 52 offensive snaps in the game.
A field goal in the last two minutes gave the Chiefs the win.
San Diego (5-2) has an AFC West showdown on Thursday night at Denver (5-1).
The game has an 8:25 p.m. kickoff time on CBS.
