Dear Editor,
On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Iron Gate Recreation Association and the Iron Gate Volunteer Fire Department sponsored the second annual Halloween Fest at the Iron Gate Playground.
The event was well attended and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time playing bingo, bobbing for apples, having their palms read, listening to “ghoulish” music and just socializing.
The event would not have been as successful if not for the many donations we received from local businesses.
We would like to thank Bev’s Beauty Boutique, The Flower Center, Upper Cuts, Jack Mason’s Tavern, Northwest True Value, Homer’s Parts & Accessories, First Citizens Bank, Annabelle Dew, Auto Zone, Fisher Auto Parts (Covington), Advance Auto and Hill Top Market.
A special thank you goes to Joey Crawford for providing the wonderful “ghoulish” music and being our announcer for the evening. We also have to mention our “witches” (they know who they are) who handed out treat bags and candy. You were fantastic.
Thank you to all the town folks who donated cakes for the cake walks and to those who pitched in and helped where there was a need.
Sincerely,
Iron Gate Parks and
Recreation Association
