The Sharon Ruritan Club has added a new activity to its repertoire of fundraising events.
Member Judith Peery, chairperson of a cake raffle, spearheaded the event held as part of the club’s participation in the annual Shriner’s Fall Foliage Festival held in downtown Clifton Forge.
Chances for homemade pound cakes were sold during the festival.
The cakes were won by Dean Jenkins and Susan Haley.
This fall, the Ruritans conducted their largest fundraisers of the year with the sale of hot dogs, drinks and desserts during the festival along with the sale of apple butter.
The club sold out all of their hot dogs during the festival as well as all of the apple butter made by the club. Proceeds will be used to support numerous community projects and needs.
