Dear Editor,
The Goldenrod in our area was so beautiful this year that I would like to share some information from a recent published article from a wildflower expert.
He said that it is so unfair for Goldenrod to be given the bad reputation of ragweed.
They are both members of the composite family, bloom at the same time, and often at the same location.
Ragweed pollen is airborne and is spread everywhere by wind. The pollen is so widespread and the plant is hard to eradicate. It causes severe allergies.
Goldenrod is pollinated by insects only.
Sincerely,
Joyce Hanna
