Students at Edgemont Primary School and Jeter-Watson Intermediate School recently participated in a Pink Out Day in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The students raised over $1,400 for April Reyns, a kindergarten teacher at EPS currently battling breast cancer.
Each of the two classes that raised the most money, Desiree Landers’ first grade class at EPS and Shannon Rock’s fifth grade class at JWIS, earned a pink party sponsored by the Covington Education Association.
EPS students celebrated Pink Out Day by forming a letter “A” for “April”, top photo, while JWIS students formed a pink ribbon in honor of breast cancer awareness, bottom photo.
