DEAR AUNT MARY,

This is a warning for anyone eating or drinking in a local bar or restaurant.

While most have surveillance cameras watching their customers, some also have audio surveillance as well.

So, if you are going out to talk with friends, a date or otherwise while eating a meal or having a drink, be advised that every action and every word you utter is being recorded and this is legal.

Do not expect any privacy.

I really wouldn’t know about this and what’s more, I really don’t care.

If I plan to have a confidential conservation with someone, I make sure the area is suitable for this.

When out in public, do as my mother told me: “If you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything.” I follow this advice and it has done me good for many, many years.
