Debby Faulkenbury of Clifton Forge Main Street Inc. displays a design that is part of a scarecrow-making contest.
In early October, thirty-nine participating merchants will be displaying scarecrow designs on lampposts in the downtown Clifton Forge area.
The public will be allowed to vote for their favorite design through Halloween.
