Local electrician Daryl Burkholder will be teaching two courses during the Spring 2015 semester at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.
“Electrical Print Reading” (ELE 195) will be held on Monday evenings, starting Jan. 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 380, Scott Hall, in Clifton Forge campus.
This is a 15 week, three-credit course designed to broaden knowledge and understanding of electrical drawings with an introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers, covering inputs and outputs, basic commands, ladder logic, programming and troubleshooting.
“National Electric Code” (ELE 131) a 15-week, three- credit course, will be held on Tuesday nights, starting Jan. 13, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 302, Scott Hall, also on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus. The course examines the requirements of the 2011 edition of the National Electrical Code recently adopted into the state of Virginia’s Uniform Building Code.
