GREENVILLE — The Covington Cougars dropped a pair of contests in the Augusta County Tip-Off Tournament at Riverheads High School.
The host Gladiators handed the Cougars a 54-40 loss Wednesday, while Stuarts Draft scored a 76-19 decision over the Cougars Friday evening.
In Wednesday’s game, Macey Snyder with 12 points and Morgan Bond with 11 paced the Gladiators.
Kayla Campbell scored a game-high 21 to lead the Cougars.
In Friday’s action, Stuarts Draft rolled to a 48-15 lead at intermission. They then held Covington scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Rachel Sauder, Madison Riley and Danielle Brenneman each scored a dozen to lead Stuarts Draft.
Campbell had 13 for Covington.
The Cougars, now 0-3 on the young season, are back in action Monday when they host Craig County.
