Dear Sir,

The Gift of Deliverance Committee is preparing for our annual Christmas Eve Community Dinner.

The dinner will be held Dec. 24 at Pine Street Baptist Church, 347 E. Pine Street, from noon to 3 p.m. Donations for the dinner will be accepted Dec. 7 at Pine Street Baptist from noon until 3 p.m. We will accept turkey, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, drinks, rolls and dessert.  Also any staple items, plates, plastic ware, to-go boxes, trash bags or a monetary donation.

Our desire is to feed any and everyone who has a need. Our community is made up of elderly individuals who live alone, no family near, unable to get out without assistance, etc. The need does not have to be financial. It’s hard to prepare a nourishing meal for one.  Sometimes you just need someone to stop by with a smile and well wishes. It is our desire to fulfill the need whatever it is.

If you know of anyone who needs a hot nourishing meal, please send us a letter with the name, address, phone number to Gift of Deliverance, 508 S. Alleghany Avenue or 360 E. Oak Street, Covington, Va. 24426 before Dec. 9.

We are still in need of individuals or groups to deliver meals, prepare, cook, serve and clean.  We would welcome any church who would like to serve people or to prepare and dispense to-go boxes. If you are interested in helping in any way please call (540) 863-0279 and leave a message. We will return your call as soon as possible.

We will not be able to fulfill our mission without the help of the caring individuals of the Alleghany Highlands. The committee thanks you for your past support and we pray God’s blessings upon you.  We also pray His blessings upon our dinner this year.

Sincerely,
Gift of Deliverance
Committee
Covington
