Emma Pugh

RICHMOND— Emma Jane Armstrong Pugh departed her earthly life to join her husband for eternal peace in heaven, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015.

Emma was born to Charles and Ethel Armstrong in McClung, July 3, 1924.  

She lived in Bath County for 74 years, but relocated to Richmond to be near family after the death of her husband of 48 years.  

While in Bath County, Emma found great peace in her church home and family at Healing Springs Baptist Church, where she was a very active member until her move to Richmond in 1998.

In addition to her husband, Emma was preceded in death by brothers, Charles David Armstrong Bernell Armstrong, and Carl Armstrong; and sister, Mabel Gutshall.

She is survived by daughters, Annie Pugh, of Elliston, and Bonnie Sue Davis (Bob), of Richmond.  

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Mark Davis, Matthew Davis, and Gregory Green; and great-grandchildren, Michelle and Mark Davis and Will Holbert; as well as four loving nephews, B.C. Armstrong, Charlie Armstrong, Rick Armstrong, and Steve Armstrong.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m.  Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Woodland Union Church cemetery, Millboro.

Donations in Emma’s memory may be made to the Healing Springs Baptist Church, 4697 Sam Snead Highway, Hot Springs, Va. 24445.

Arrangements have been managed by Cremation Society of Virginia, Richmond and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
