Evelyn Brent Patteson Sprouse died January 27, 2015 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. She was a daughter of the late Camm Mahone & Mary Brockman Patteson.
She was born October 10, 1931 at the Brockman homeplace in Amherst Co. Virginia.
She graduated from Covington High School in 1948. She was retired from John H. Frischkorn Jr., Inc after 35 years. She was a member of McAllister Presbyterian Church and the Happy Fellowship Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth Edward Sprouse in 1993.
She is survived by a daughter Dianne Brent Sprouse Mills (Randall) of Covington, Virginia and John Patteson Sprouse (Amanda) of Covington, Virginia and three grandchildren, Meredith Lynne and McKenzie Brockman Mills of Pleasanton, California and Kenneth Robert Sprouse of Covington. Also a sister, Janis Patteson Hannah of Covington and two nephews, Brent Camden of Charlottesville, Virginia and Mark Hannah of Covington. She also leaves a lifetime cherished friend in Dorris P. Wingfield also of Covington.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Loving Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Mike Fleenor.
Friends may call 2 hours prior to service time at the funeral home or on Friday night from 7-8 pm on Friday.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Mills, Stuart Sizemore, Bob Wolfe, Gary Hawley, Kevin Davis and Edward Gibson. Alternate pallbearers will be: Charlie Wingfield, Fred Tucker III, Dave Sites, Tommy Snyder, Heath Pence, and Davy Weese.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to McAllister Presbyterian Church, 900 N. Alleghany Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
