HOT SPRINGS – Schol-arships totalling $169,400 were awarded to members of the Bath County High School Class of 2012 Thursday night.

Scholarships were awarded and members of the Class of 2012 were capped during Class Night activities at BCHS Thursday.

Scholarships included:

Bath County Art Association Scholarships: Sage Tanguay and Melanie Baughan, $1,500 each.

Bath County Education Association Scholarship: Jenna Crummett, $500.

Bath/Highland Lioness Club Scholarship: Samantha Roberts, $500.

Bolar Ruritan Scholarship Foundation: Jenna Crummett, $3,000.

John B. Kershner Sr. Scholarship: Jamie Sprouse, $500.

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Scholar-ships:

Carter Scholarship: Rebek-kah Pauley, $2,500.

DSLCC 50th Anniversary Alumni Scholarship: Rebekkah Pauley, $500.

Edward Pennell Brooks OCC Scholarship: Charles Smith, $1,500; Kelsey Nelson, $500; Ashley Rice, $1,000.

T. Kenneth and Karin R. Ellis Scholarship: Samantha Roberts, $1,500.

Ethel Mae Grimes Dorsey Memorial Nursing Scholarship: Harley Crummett, $1,500.

BARC Electric Cooperative Scholarship: Jordan Fry, $450.

Charles F. Hileman Honorary Scholarship: Brandon Webb, $1,175.

Thomas J. Lennon Memorial Scholarship: Jamie Sprouse, $1,500.

Lucy Linkenhoker Memorial Nursing Scholarship: Chase Smith (full scholarship, approximately $13,000).

Bath Community Hospital Medical Technologist Scholar-ship: Kelsey Nelson, $1,000.

Millboro Ruritan Club Memorial Scholarship: Jacob Hyler and Cynthia Riley $500 each.

Sam Snead Scholarship: Aaron Newmarker and Kayla Lindsay, $500 each.

Staunton School of Cosmetology Scholarship: Savannah Altizer, Courtnery Bosserman, Amanda Shifflett and Dominique Spurgeon, $1,000 each.

James R. Stephenson Memorial Scholarship: William Barden, $500.

Sheriff’s Scholarship: Dylan Ryder, $500.

Carl F. Williams Athletic Scholarship: Mitchell Stinespring and Rebekkah Pauley, $500 each.

The Vardaman Family Foundation Scholarship: Sarita Hough, $20,000.

Lucas “Luke” Shifflett Mem-orial Scholarship: Aaron New-marker and Rebekkah Pauley, $600 each.

Trooper Alan Buzzard Memorial Scholarship: Dylan Ryder, $500.

Robin Thompson Memorial Scholarship: Jamie Sprouse and Isaac Haney, $500 each.

Achievement Boosters Club Scholarship: Sage Tanguay, Melanie Baughan, Rebekkah Pauley and Jenna Crummett, $750 each.

Cowpasture River Preser-vation Association Scholarship: Shianne Gum, $500.

John Dufour Memorial Scholarship: Abby Dufour, $1,000; Alexa Faraone, $500.

Ronald Stinnett/Dwight Kerr Memorial Scholarship: Sav-annah Altizer, Jamie Sprouse, Shianne Gum, Samantha Fry and Alexa Faraone, $1,000 each.

Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship: Melanie Baughan, $300.

Thomas E. and Elaine F. Dickerson Memorial Scholar-ship:

Virginia Tech Alumni Association Scholarship: William Barden and Ryan Plecker, $1,000 each.

The Glencairn Foundation Scholarship: Jamie Sprouse, Melanie Baughan, Sage Tanguay and William Barden, $24,000 each.

Highland-Bath County Farm Bureau Scholarship: Mitchell Stinespring, $500.

Bath-Highland Retired Educator’s Scholarship: Mel-anie Baughan, $200.

Phantom Eagle LLC Scholarship: Jamie Sprouse and Rebekkah Pauley, $1,000 each.

Alleghany County Farm Bureau Scholarship: Mitchell Stinespring, $1,000.

The Eric Charles Bowyer Scholarship: Savannah Altizer, $500.

Frank D. “Bo” Shrader Mem-orial Scholarship: Savannah Altizer, $700.

The Joyce and Shad Solomon Family Scholarship: Jenna Crummett, $1,000.

DuPont Community Credit Union Academic Scholarship: Jamie Sprouse.

GRASP Schoarships: Damien Cardwell, Savannah Altizer, Kelsey Nelson, $1,000.

U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award: Ryan Plecker and Jailyn Ford.

Marine Corps Male Athlete of the Year: Mitchell Stine-spring.

Thursday night’s scholarships and awards were presented by Bath County High School Principal Sarah Rowe.

Senior capping ceremonies were led by Marion Trumbo.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by Jenna Crummett.
