Virginia Lee Fridley Persinger, 79, of Covington, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at The Springs Nursing Home, Hot Springs.
She was the widow of the late Lebert Lee “Buster” Persinger.
Mrs. Persinger was born July 20, 1932, in Alleghany County the daughter of the late Peter Nelson Fridley and Peachy Elizabeth Shue Fridley.
She was a former employee of the Holiday Inn, working in the housekeeping department, and a member of Cornerstone Church of God.
Mrs. Persinger is survived by one daughter, Linda Persinger Starke and husband, A.C.; one son, David L. Persinger; five grandchildren, Kim Williams, David Wayne Persinger and wife, Cathy, Daniel Persinger and wife, Beth, Terri Persinger and J. J. Meadows; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Persinger; and also a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, “Buster,” and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Persinger Lewis; four sisters; three brothers and one grandson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Wayne Persinger, Eugene Persinger, Buster Givens, Ronnie Howard, J.J. Meadows, and Mike Holcomb.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
