Clara Lucille Plecker Rhea, age 91, of The Springs Nursing Home, Hot Springs, and formerly of Millboro, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at The Springs Nursing Home.
She was born February 5, 1926, in Bath County, Virginia to the late Forrest Henry and Clara Eskleen Peery Plecker.
She was a retired School Secretary and Board member for the Bath County Public School System. She attended Woodland Union Church, Calvary Baptist Church, Clifton Forge Baptist Church, and sold Avon products.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gratton “Bill” Rhea in July 1996; a daughter, Karen Lucille Rhea Capley; and two brothers, Peery Lee Plecker and Milton Noel Plecker.
She is survived by a grandson, Michael Scott Capley of Lynchburg; two brothers, Forrest Clayton Plecker and wife Jackie, and Thomas Edward “Tom” Plecker, Sr. and wife Louise, both of Millboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Rev. J. Glenn Linthicum officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodland Church Cemetery, Millboro.
Active pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
