Mary Cales Britt, 96, formerly of Covington, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at Commonwealth Senior Assisted Living in Abingdon.
She was born January 3, 1922 in Alderson, WV, a daughter of the late Elbert and Margaret Warren Cales.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leslie A. Britt 2014; a sister Francis Cales and an infant son.
Mrs. Britt was a member of Calvary Christian Church and the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three daughters Judy Nay of Midlothian ; Cheryl Marshall and her husband Barry of Covington and Nancy Kessler and her husband Stephen of Abingdon; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin Thompson; Stacie Marshall; Bryan and Vanessa Ham; Jason and Amy Marshall; Amanda and Jeff Altice and Corren and Brian Hannabass; 9 great  grandchildren , Alexis Thompson; Mckenzie Thompson; Bailey Sizemore; Carson Sizemore; Josh Altice ; Madison Hannabass; Cadiz Marshall; Reagan Ham and Eli Ham; one great great granddaughter, Haliegh Altice; a number of nieces and nephews and her best friend Margaret Coffey of Selma.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Warren officiating.
Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.
The family will receive their friends Thursday from 11:30 AM until service time at the Arritt Funeral Home on Thursday.
Memorial donations in Mrs. Britt’s name may be made to the Calvary Christian Church, 1329 S. Pond Street, Covington, VA  24426.
