Edwin “Eddie” Wesley Martin, age 84 of Roanoke, Virginia and formerly of Covington, died Thursday, August 24, 2017.

He was born in Ronceverte, West Virginia on February 6, 1933, a son of the late Walter and Janet Martin.

He served in the United States Army and was a retired mechanic from the maintenance department of Hercules, Inc.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Johnny Martin, Bill Martin, Sammy Martin, Jerry Martin, and Freddy Martin; three sisters, Vera Showalter, Sue Crawford, and Edith Daniels; and a son, Kevin Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gurd Martin; children and spouses, Barry & Laura Martin, Mark & Julie Martin, and Neil & Charlene Martin; grandchildren,  Kyle Martin, Joseph Martin, Cory Parker, Marissa Martin, Mason Martin, Linda Gail Martin, and Cole Martin; a sister, Rita Martin; a brother, Norman and Wanda Martin; and several nieces and nephews. 
The family will gather on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. at Nicely Funeral Home and proceed to Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor at 1:00 P.M. for a graveside service conducted by Pastor Lynn Wright.

Pallbearers will be Barry Martin, Neil Martin, Mark Martin, Norman Martin, Joseph Martin, Kyle Martin, Mason Martin, and Cory Parker.
Arrangements by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
